A mother had three sons who were all brave soldiers. The mother loved them dearly. It happened that there was a war. The three sons were all sent to battlefield.

A year was over. The eldest son was killed. When the news reached the mother, she smiled happily and proudly.

The second year was over. The second son was killed. When the news came to her, she smiled more happily and more proudly.

The third year was over. The youngest son was killed. When she heard the news, she wept bitterly. She said “I have no more sons to offer to my country.”
